Diablo IV – Original Soundtrack Collaboration

Commissioned by Blizzard Entertainment

For Diablo IV, NYX was invited by Music Director Derek Duke to contribute original vocal material to the game’s score ~ marking the beginning of the ensemble’s collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment, which would continue in later cinematic work.

Working closely with the composition team, NYX developed choral and extended vocal textures to inhabit the stark, ritualistic atmosphere of Sanctuary.

Across a series of workshops led by NYX Music Director Sian O’Gorman and Somatic Movement Director Imogen Knight, the ensemble explored embodied vocal techniques in response to early visual material and narrative themes. These sessions focused on building a sonic language that felt ancient, elemental and physically grounded.

Senior composers Ted Reedy and Leo Kaliski integrated NYX’s vocal arrangements into the wider score, weaving choral passages and improvised textures throughout the game’s environments and cinematic moments.

The vocals were recorded at Abbey Road Institute (Angel Studios) and engineered by John Kurlander.
