NYX’s work is rooted in vocal embodiment, deep listening and collective empowerment, led by NYX Music Director Sian O’Gorman and Somatic Movement Director Imogen Knight.

𒅒

We explore what it means to move and be heard — to be supported by the collective voice, and to create and belong inside our sounding bodies.

Our workshops combine voice and somatic movement practices, creating spaces where participants can expand listening, expression and physical awareness. Sessions are designed for singers and non-singers of all ages, and are offered in a range of contexts — from public workshops to commissioned programmes and institutional partnerships.

Recent partners include the Victoria and Albert Museum, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Southbank Centre, Soho House, National Theatre Studio, Supersonic Festival, and Body & Soul.

Monthly Drone Choir — Open Drop-In

Alongside our workshop programme, Sian holds a monthly open Sounding Circle / Drop-In Drone Choir at Om Being (first Sunday of each month).

This is a dedicated drop-in sounding space: no experience required, no performance element. Through sustained tones and deep listening, we build a shared field of sound — supporting nervous system regulation, creative expansion, and collective presence.

Open to complete beginners, experienced singers, producers and artists alike. You can attend any month without prior participation.

I felt the embodied practices were incredibly helpful in re-meeting my voice in the moment, and getting away from pre-conceived ideas about what it sounds like or should sound like. Feeling out what is already there and what wants to come out was really exciting and inspiring.

Public Workshop Participant (2022)

I am so grateful to NYX for opening a space for freedom and play in community with others. In the paradigm we live in within the city, this can sometimes be challenge, but a few hours engaging in these practices has been deeply healing, energising and restorative.
